Eagle in the Night
Driving back from Bristol with a Scots driver on the night sleeper, I failed to understand his instruction to keep the speed down. Bouncing along jointed rail at 100 he suddenly jumped up and taught me the Scottish for silly person, very loudly and repeated several times, presumably to demonstrate correct pronunciation.
